The Story of Young John

·       John grew up in Des Moines, where, like the city's name suggests (lit. "the monks"), he developed into a peaceful and innocent young man.  In fact, his parents' claim that he never caused them an ounce of trouble--at least, so this story goes....

·       Despite this monkish start, it wasn't until later at Wheaton College that John became serious about his relationship with God.  In fact, after going on several short-term missions trips, he switched majors at Wheaton, and began preparing for the possibility of going into full-time ministry.

·       In 1998, while teaching English at an evangelistic language camp in Hungary, John met a beautiful Hungarian princess, who captured his heart and changed the course of his life.

·       After six years of traveling to the four corners of the earth in order to bring the world's most precious gifts, the King finally relented, and allowed young John to marry the princess--though only after chopping down a tree by hand.

·       Now, after this long and arduous road, young John is happily married to the beautiful Hungarian princess, and together they are devoting their lives to ministering to the many broken and hopeless people in Hungary.

The Hungarian Princess Zsófi

·       Zsófi was born in a country, far, far, away - over many mountains, and across the great sea - near where the sun rests before rising each morning.

·       Unfortunately, this beautiful country was ruled by a foreign power for many years.  So when the time was right, young Zsófi's family moved to Austria, where no one understood the language of her forefathers.

·       After learning the language of the Austrians (German), Zsófi also began studying English.  Invited to an evangelistic English language camp, Zsófi encountered the King of Kings for the first time.

·       Experiencing the King's grace, at 16 years old, she became the first in her family to choose to follow Christ.  Ever since then, she has had a heart to help others discover the King's love and goodness too.

·       After meeting young perplexing John, Zsófi was thankful she had studied Psychology in Vienna.  But four years weren't enough, so she decided journey over the mountains and across the mighty river to complete a Master’s program in Christian Psychology at IGNIS Akademie in Germany.

·       Thankfully, now Zsófi has the tools to finally understand her new husband.  But she is even more excited to use her training in counseling, along with her cross-cultural experiences, to help the people back in Hungary who are still in need of the Son.
